How to hem a knit t-shirt with coverstitch machine
On these photos I will show you how to make a hemming of t-shirt using the coverstitch machine.
First you need fold a bottom edge of fabric, as shown.
Before sewing you need to press the hem of t-shirt.
Start hemming of t-shirt using coverstitch machine. Sew the fold on right side of knit fabric.
This is a wrong side of folded hem.
Now you need trim the fabric edges above cover seam.
Another way of hemming using a coverstitch machine
On this photo shows another way of hemming using a coverstitch sewing machine. Fabric edge on wrong side of t-shirt do not need to trim after hemming. Look! This edge is into the cover seam. But to do it fine you need have a skill or use a special presser foot.
Stitch length selector knob
This is a knob for adjusting a length of cover stitch.
Before selecting a needed length of stitch I recommend make test examples of stitch length on test knit fabric.
Knob for stretching or gathering fabrics
Using this knob you can to stretch or to gather knit fabrics. What is it for? Knitted fabrics are very stretchable fabrics and therefore you need to adjust this option before sewing. N - Normal.
Try different options sewing, so you will be easier to understand what is it for.
