To replace a light bulb in sewing machine is needed open up a front cover. In most cases, the bulb is located under this front cover. But most older machines have other places where is mounted a lamp. For example, from a side, or there is no lighting at all.
Often to open this cover needs screwdriver. Sometimes you just need to pull the cover to opening it, as a door.
But in any cases, before removing this cover you need to buy a new sewing machine bulb. But first you need to determine a bulb type that is installed on your sewing machine. Type of bulb is specified in manual.
Note: Before you start changing of burned light bulb, you need to unplug sewing machine from the mains. The most reliable way do not get an electric shock is to disconnect cord from plug on body of sewing machine or from outlet.
Removing a front cover
Insert a thin flat screwdriver under small protective cap on front cover.
Note: This protective cap may be set in other places, for example, from bottom side of front cover.
Now you need turn out this screw completely using a flat screwdriver.
Remove the front cover and place it on table.
How to remove a light bulb
In old sewing machines models and some modern inexpensive models, bulbs have a screw-in type of a menall cap.
But many modern sewing machines and overlockes have an universal bayonet of cap a light bulb. In this model of sewing machine, too.
To remove such light bulb needs to press it up slightly and turn it lightly.
The light bulb comes freely from socle.
